The President of Kazakhstan noted the relevance of studying water security issues with an emphasis on finding solutions to problems related to the Aral Sea, the Syr Darya and Ural rivers, as well as a number of other water bodies, during a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of the Institute of geography and water security JSC Ahmetkal Medeu.
The Head of state received the Chairman of the Board of JSC "Institute of geography and water security" Akhmetkala Medeu, the Akorda website reported.
"Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the main activities and priorities for further development of the scientific institution," the official resource notes.
Akhmetkal Medeu told the President in detail about the research of the Institute of geography in the field of water safety, natural hazards, ecology and cartography.
